Chapter 147 — The Long-Awaited...
Years of Heartflutter Page 439 of 501
"..." Wei Jin rolled his eyes. "No. He raped my girlfriend, and then my girlfriend passed it to me."
Yang Jincong gave a laugh. That was complicated enough. Then he said, "So that's why you want him dead?"
"Yes. He ruined me and my girlfriend. I can't let him live easy." A vicious look came over Wei Jin's face as he spoke with absolute resolve.
"But with that disease, he can't have long to live anyway, can he?" Yang Mo asked with some curiosity.
"That's not certain. The doctors say with proper treatment, he could live twenty or thirty years." Wei Jin said, "I can't let him live. I'm going to get rid of him."
"And so you came to me." Yang Ce found the logic of it rather amusing, though that fellow Zou Ruoguang really was a piece of work—to think he could pass the disease on to Wei Jin of all people.
"Yes. Will you help me?" Wei Jin said. "Payment is no issue. So long as you help me get rid of him."
"But do you think I'm short of money?" Yang Xutang laughed. "I'd be taking a huge risk to kill a man for you. What if it comes to light? You don't care—you've already thrown everything away. But what about me?"
"That—" Wei Jin knew this was a difficult request, and he also knew that Yang Shuoxuan was indeed not short of money. He had since learned of Yang Juehuan's family background, and anyone in Yang Cenbin's position would never take such an unnecessary risk.
At that thought, Wei Jin felt a pang of disappointment. If it came down to it, he would have to go it alone, and whether it succeeded would be left to heaven.
"Still, getting rid of Zou Ruoguang—that suggestion isn't bad at all. That fellow, I've long found him an eyesore." Seeing Wei Jin's disappointment, Yang Ce changed tack.
Yang Ce was in fact quite interested in Wei Jin's proposal. First, Wei Jin had promised a generous reward. Second, Zou Ruoguang, that idiot, was someone Yang Ce had long wanted dead.
The man had dared to pursue his wife—two of them, no less. How could Yang Ce ever let him off?
"You mean you'll help me?" Hearing Yang Juehuan's words, Wei Jin was overjoyed and said eagerly, his eyes full of hope.
"Me going to kill someone myself is obviously out of the question. But I can recommend you a method." Yang Yanzhou said.
"You mean I should hire a killer?" Wei Jin's expression dimmed again. "It's not that I haven't thought of it, but I'm afraid whoever I hire would be worthless. You know Zou Ruoguang won't be easy to kill—he and the Sui family..."
"Of course. I wouldn't recommend an ordinary method." Yang Ce waved a hand and smiled. "Have you heard of professional assassin groups?"
"Professional assassin groups?" Wei Jin was startled and said eagerly, "You can get in touch with them?"
Wei Jin had of course heard of assassins and knew such organizations existed, but he had no connections and no way to reach them, which was why he had been forced to come to Yang Ce.
"If I mention it, then of course I can reach them," Yang Hengye said. "And I can even tell you how to make contact."
"Really?" Wei Jin was overjoyed. "How do I contact them? Tell me, and once it's done, I'll reward you handsomely as well."
"But organizations like this charge very high fees. You'd better be prepared." Yang Jiyan waved his hand, signaling him to calm down. "Of course, your matter will look like child's play to them—they can handle it easily."
"Price is no issue." Wei Jin gritted his teeth. "I've already decided to sell the family company. Will that money be enough?"
Sell the company—ha. He himself had been mulling over how to swindle Wei Jin's company into his hands, and now the fellow had brought it up first. Mm, not bad at all, not bad at all.
"You're selling your company?" Yang Ce asked, feigning surprise.
"Yeah. Gu and I—my girlfriend—neither of us has the heart to run it anymore. If we don't sell, it'll go under anyway. The money from the sale I'll use for revenge; our savings are enough for our treatment and for seeing us through the rest of our lives," Wei Jin said with a sigh.
For a moment, hearing Wei Jin's words, Yang Ce was overcome with a pang of melancholy. Then again, Wei Jin's grudge against him was hardly a deep one—but who had told his father to provoke him again and again?
"So have you found a buyer?" Yang Ce asked.
"It's not that easy to find one," Wei Jin said with a bitter smile. "I've only just started looking. A company this size—anyone would want to be careful before buying."
"Ah, I see," Yang Ce said, putting on a thoughtful air as he pondered.
Seeing Yang Ce suddenly fall silent, Wei Jin had no idea what he was thinking and dared not interrupt. He could only watch him anxiously.
"Tell you what—my family's just about to move into real estate. Sell the company to me. Give me a good price, and we'll call it even for what I owe you," Yang Ce said, as though he had only just reached the decision.
"Sell it to you?" Wei Jin was taken aback, then said, "Well, great! Yang Ce, you've really done me a huge favor. I was worried sick I'd never find a buyer. Don't worry, the price will be more than fair. I only want Zou Ruoguang dead—the money in savings is plenty for Gu and me."
Ha—this deal can only profit, never lose. Not only do I get rid of an enemy, I pick up a company for free, and none of it can be traced back to me. You're the one who went and hired the hit squad. That doesn't touch me.
And on top of all that, this idiot Wei Jin is grateful to me—the man who killed his father.
To be continued.
1027. The Wang Family's Phone Call
"As for the price, I don't think I'll be shortchanging you," Yang Ce said with a wave of his hand and a magnanimous smile. "You go contact the hit squad, see what their fee is, and then we'll discuss the company."
"Yang Ce, you're too good to me," Wei Jin said, touched. "You're a real friend. I know we've had our differences in the past, but you reaching out a hand when I'm in trouble—thank you. Thank you."
Yang Ce waved his hand and thought: We may not have any deep hatred between us, but you've got plenty of bad blood in you too, so you deserve to be strung along. Aloud he said, "No need for thanks. I'm just feeling sorry for you out of a sense of humanitarianism, nothing more."
"I understand, I understand." Wei Jin couldn't care less about humanitarianism or whatever it was called—as long as the man helped him settle this huge problem, he'd be satisfied. "That hit squad's contact information—"
"Oh, I'll tell you right now. Take a pen and write it down," Yang Ce said.
"All right, all right." Wei Jin found a piece of paper and said, "Go ahead."
"What I'm giving you is a website—three w's..." After spelling out the address, Yang Ce continued, "The site has the whole process laid out. Once you submit a request, someone will get in touch with you. Beyond that I don't know much—you can work out the details yourselves."
Wei Jin nodded repeatedly and wrote down the address, tucking the paper carefully into his pocket as though terrified of losing it.
"If there's nothing else, I'll be going. As for the company, just give me a call," Yang Ce said, waving a hand as he rose, ready to leave.
"Sure thing, Yang Ce. The moment I hear anything, I'll contact you right away. Really, thank you so much this time!" Wei Jin, bowing and scraping, saw Yang Ce excitedly to the door, then eagerly took out the address, impatient to make contact.
Once they were in the car, Wang Yanqiu sighed and said, "Yang Ce, you really dared to open your mouth wide—a whole company for one little job?"
"That's because you've never seen what a big job looks like. A company's nothing—someone might even give me an island," Yang Ce said indifferently.
"Fair enough. But the address you gave him was Black Widow's. When has Black Widow ever taken a job that big?" Wang Yanqiu said with feeling. He thought to himself that Yang Ce was really something—one deal like this, and he'd made more than Wang himself had managed in years of striving.
