Chapter 298 — Portrait of the Mastermind

The very man who had been with Huang Shu! This man was actually the one behind it all? Yang Ce found it a little hard to believe. A person who had seemed so mysterious was suddenly laid before your eyes, revealed as this man, and at once a sense of disappointment set in.

Though Yang Ce had never met this man, he still had a strong feeling of familiarity, a sense of having seen him before. But the man's features were utterly ordinary, with nothing distinctive about them, the kind of face you forget the moment you turn away. Had Yang Minlan not been so deeply impressed on his memory, even Yang Ce might not have recognized him on suddenly picking up the portrait.

Now that it was fully confirmed that the man behind the scenes was the one who had met Alice, Yang Juehuan felt considerably more at ease. At the very least, his enemy was one man. Though they had not yet crossed swords openly, he at least now knew his enemy existed.

Unlike before, when he could not be sure whether these hidden bosses were one and the same person.

"Thank you, Expert Wang!" Yang Minlan was deeply grateful that Expert Wang could render the image of the man behind the scenes so vividly.

"Not at all. If there's nothing else, Mr. Yang, I'll get back to my work." Expert Wang smiled as he spoke.

"Expert Wang, why don't we go out for a meal together later, as a thank-you?" Yang Ce said courteously at once.

"No need for that!" Expert Wang waved a hand. "This is all part of my duty. I have other matters to attend to, so a meal won't be necessary."

Seeing Expert Wang put it that way, Yang Shuoxuan did not insist. He supposed Expert Wang was telling the truth; given his abilities, his daily workload must be considerable, so when would he have time for social engagements?

"Mr. Yang, how did it go? Is the portrait finished? Is there anything I can help with?" Captain Yang, having been notified by Expert Wang's assistant, pushed the door open and came in.

Yang Ce hesitated a moment. Though he thought it would probably be of little use, he decided to try anyway: "Captain Yang, I have a portrait here. Could you check the database for me and see whether there is any information on this man?"

"Oh? Certainly!" Captain Yang took the portrait Yang Ce handed him, nodded, and said, "The electronic version of the image Expert Wang made will do fine!"

The electronic image Expert Wang had produced could be fed directly into the database and compared using facial recognition software, so after copying it, Captain Yang instructed his subordinates to see to the matter.
