Those twelve ancient gods did not make things hard for him; they only mocked him a few times, and my master smiled and apologized all the while.
After he came back, he wept for a long time.
" Shen Mu's heart trembled, and he said slowly, "Emperor Yunluo wept too? " Yu Chudu turned his head away and wiped his eyes. "My fellow disciples and I were all orphans our master picked up. None of us had good aptitude, only I was a little better. Yunluo Palace was mocked as the Orphan Palace.
Heh heh, in those days, following my master, I was very happy. Later, when my master's affair came to light and he was taken away by the Celestial Court, we thought he was dead, and so we all went down to the mortal world together. " He lifted his head and said, his voice rough, "After my master was gone, the Nine Provinces and the Three Pillars Heaven went back to the way they had been. Whenever the great powers and nations went to war, they still took the human race as sacrifices, offering them to the ancient gods and demigods of the Nine Provinces and the Three Pillars Heaven. It was because we could not bear it that my fellow disciples and I rebelled.
I never thought.
. . " Shen Mu patted his shoulder. "Do not grieve. Your fellow disciples, if their spirits live on in heaven, will watch over you and protect you. Come, where is the ancestral star of those nine ancient gods of the Nine Provinces?
" Yu Chudu was taken aback, and asked doubtfully, "Martial Uncle, are we not going to the White Emperor's Celestial Palace by way of the Spirit Energy Transfer Bridge? Why go to see the ancient gods? " Shen Mu looked at the sky, his gaze as warm and gentle as jade. "The ancient gods and I are natural allies. The ancient gods need me, and I need the ancient gods.
But the ancient gods of the Nine Provinces and the Three Pillars Heaven have clearly thrown in their lot with the Celestial Court. They are the White Emperor's running dogs. So.
. .
" He drew back his gaze and showed a smile as brilliant as spring sunlight. "I am taking you to kill a few ancient gods. "
